Glacier W661 ensures reliable winter driving and a controlled and safe feel by providing an excellent combination of grip and braking performance. The multi-faceted claws located between the blocks and shoulder provides a firm contact with the snowy or icy surface and transfer full acceleration and braking power to the road with relentless grip. The pattern not only creates additional gripping edges but also offers predictable and precise handling needed whilst changing lanes on the daily commute or a joyride through a route snaking its way into the scenery.

In addition to the tire’s perfect snow performance, the multi-level block sides of Glacier W661 bites the icy surface with its teeth to guarantee persistent grip on icy roads, too. DEVELOPED IN CENTRAL ANATOLIA, TESTED IN NORTHERN EUROPE
Glacier W661 is designed and developed in Petlas’ production facilities in Kırsehir, located in the heart of Anatolian steppes which is known with freezing temperatures of continental climate. A long process of careful engineering and computer modelling was dedicated to the development of this tire, however Petlas perfectly knows that the map is not the territory. The prototypes were tested at the in-house testing laboratories and the company’s own test track as well. The results were enough to get the tire 3PMSF certified but Petlas took it several steps further to have the tire rigorously tested in the challenging weather conditions of Finland. And the test results proved that Glacier was capable of coping with the worst winter conditions on the planet.
The new tire is currently available in three sizes with reinforced sidewalls: 215/50 R17, 225/50 R17 and 225/45 R17 and Petlas is willing to expand the size range by offering 14 additional sizes ranging from 13 to 17 inch fitments.

The same safety and comfort features are ready to hit the slopes on 4×4 vehicles and SUV’s to keep beautiful winter memories within reach, as Petlas is planning to offer an adaptation of Glacier suitable for 4×4’s, SUV’s and crossovers.
