Opening new location in Nieuwkuijk underlines the growth of Ziehl-Abegg Benelux

Fenkl says that the team of Ziehl-Abegg Benelux is doing a great job and helps saving energy in a lot of buildings and industrial applications. Due to the substantial growth in turnover and consequently in the number of employees the previous office and warehouse in Hedel had become too small. Managing Director of Ziehl-Abegg Benelux is Tino Oirbans. He explains: “The new building offers room for further growth of the company and the modern, professional environment with all facilities inspires our employees and customers.”

The German-based company Ziehl-Abegg has produced electric drives for more than 100 years. Because of this experience the products are very durable. Ziehl-Abegg is a world technology leader in inventing and producing bionic fans – fans with blades inspired by nature. For example one of the bestsellers of Ziehl-Abegg’s fans is a fan with blades copying the structure of an owl’s wing. Engineers reduced the fan’s noise with more than 50 percent with this “owl technology”.

During the opening ceremony Oirbans, Managing Director at Ziehl-Abegg Benelux, welcomes representatives of the local government, politics, customers and acquaintances. He underlines that the success of Ziehl-Abegg is the result of hard work: hard work during both the production and during the training of the employees; he states the sales engineers are very engaged and well qualified. Oirbans: “We are the partner of our customers.”

The building is situated on an A-location directly visible and accessible from the A59 freeway, for example making the port of Rotterdam easy to access. ‘” We are open to all dreams and initiatives from society and fully support them. Certainly, if they are worn by people who are willing to put their own effort into it ”, states Thom Blankers of the Municipality of Heusden which Nieuwkuijk falls under. The location is centrally located in the Benelux and the building meets the latest requirements. For example, a heat pump installation is used, equipped with ZAplus fans from Ziehl-Abegg and the roof of the building is equipped with 700 solar panels.

Philosopher Bas Haring gives a lecture during the ceremony on how to look at things from a different perspective. Followed by a lecture by science journalist Diederik Jekel who explains that in the technological revolution where we are currently in the middle of, science is interesting and necessary. “You can use a brick to throw in a window, or you can use it to build a house with”’, explains Jekel. After the plenary part, there was the opportunity to network while enjoying a bite and a drink.

The clean room technology and big data centres are important fields in the business of Ziehl-Abegg Benelux. “You need hundreds of fans for a new data centre”, says Tino Oirbans. They are running 24 hours each day, the entire year. “It is very important to install fans that consume less energy”, explains Oirbans. At the headquarters in Germany, Ziehl-Abegg uses the world’s biggest combined test chamber for measuring the fans and drives. The German test association TÜV and the US association AMCA certified the results of our test. “We are selling proofed quality”, the Managing Director adds.
