Nissan brings excitement to Egypt at Automech Formula 2018

Nissan participated in “Automech Formula 2018,” the most important event for the Egyptian automotive sector. The motor show, which also celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, was held at Egypt’s International Exhibition Centre in New Cairo in September.

This year, Nissan unveiled the BladeGlider, which symbolizes Nissan’s approach to technology by combining zero emissions with advanced Nissan Intelligent Mobility. Nissan also displayed its full range lineup with its legendary SUV Qashqai and Patrol, and its locally assembled cars Sunny and Sentra. The stand included a special corner for the Nissan Sporty lineup with accessorized versions of Sunny, Sentra and Qashqai.

“I am excited to be here today at my first Cairo Motor Show,” said Kohei Maeda, chairman and managing director of Nissan Motor Egypt. “Egypt is a very important market for us and we have plans to grow and strengthen our presence as a popular Japanese auto brand in the country. We are also excited to bring our technologies here to Egypt and showcase our brand promise to our customer, ‘Innovation that Excites.’ With Nissan Intelligent Mobility, we are making this vision a reality, today.”

During the press conference, Maeda revealed the BladeGlider and commented: “I am very excited to unveil BladeGlider for the first time in Egypt, which represents our philosophy of combining driving pleasure and environmental responsibility. Innovation is driving Nissan forward globally and here in Egypt. We are accelerating our efforts to make our brand more accessible and desirable for Egyptian customers.”

Maeda pointed out that Egypt is an important market for Nissan, because it is a country with tremendous potential and opportunities where Nissan has a long history of collaboration.

“We are proud that many Egyptian families grew up with Sunny,” said Maeda. “We are the only global car manufacturer owning and operating the plant in Egypt with 100% investment.”

At the show, the Nissan press conference was attended by more than 80 Journalists. Through the press day, Maeda hosted a roundtable interview with 15 Journalists in addition to a visit from the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Amr Nassar.
